M.B.R.C. 2010 Calendar of Meetings and Events

All regular meetings are at 12:00 noon, usually on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, except November and December.
The location is the Sky Room (6th floor) at The Landmark Inn, 230 N. Front St, Downtown Marquette.
A buffet lunch is available for $7.75 and reservations are not necessary, except the Holiday Party and Awards Luncheon.
Please attend & bring a guest!

January
Thu. 14 - 2010 Planning meeting: Goals, Calendar, and Budget Review.

Thu. 28 - View DVD of 2009 Philadelphia Flower Show.

February
Thu. 11 - Barb Kelly, owner of Flourishes LLC, will demonstrate flower arranging “Valentine’s Dreaming.” Tickets sold to win a flower arrangement.

Thu. 25 - Earl Senchuk will present “Boomer Bloomer,” his invention that extends the growing season.

Sat. 27 * - Younkers Spring Charity Event/Fundraiser, Westwood Mall, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Participants receive a $10 off coupon, a 30% early bird coupon, and six 20% off coupons.

Thu. 11 - Jack Deo, owner of Superior View Studio, will present “3-D Time Travel in Marquette – the 1860's and 1870’s.”

Thu. 25 - Babette Welch, U.P. Coordinator for Michigan Save Our Water, will present “There’s No Pure Michigan Without Pure Water.”

April
Thu. 8 - Tiina Harris, educator at Marquette County History Museum, will present “Streetcar Renovation.”

Thu. 22 - Planning for Petunia Pandemonium.

Sat. 24 * - 32nd Annual City-Wide Spring Clean-Up. Meet at the Huron Mountain Bread Co., 1301 S. Front St., 10 am.

Thu. 10 - Rosemary Michelin, Librarian, Marquette County History Museum, will present “The Early ‘Yankees’ of Marquette."

Thu. 24 - Bill Thum, Owner, Superior Productions, “The Beauty of Marquette Captured on Video.”

Sat. 26 * - Third Annual Garden Extravaganza Garden Conference, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Keynote Speakers are featuring Janet Macunovich and Steve Nikkila and several garden workshops will be held.
