Name: The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee, Inc.
Purpose:
This Committee was organized:
To improve the appearance of Marquette.
To encourage each individual citizen to maintain and beautify his/her property.
By suggestion, example, instruction and awards to encourage each business, organization
and individual citizen to cooperate in beautifying the city.
To encourage maintenance of and appropriate restoration of historic buildings and landmarks.
Membership: Any person sympathetic with our purposes is welcome to membership.
Officers: President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. These
persons shall be the Executive Committee.
Elections: Officers will be elected by a majority vote of the members
attending the annual election meeting in October or November. Officers shall serve for
a term of one year or until their successors are chosen.
Nominating Committee: Consists of three members chosen by the membership
to select nominees for office. When chosen, names of the nominees will be presented
at the next meeting. Elections will be held at the following meeting with nominations
from the floor allowed.
Meetings: Are flexible and ordinarily held the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.
Nondiscrimination Policy: It shall be the policy of the Marquette Beautification and
Restoration Committee, Inc. to provide equal membership/employment/service opportunities to all eligible
persons without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship, age, sex, marital status, sexual
preference, parental status, handicap, membership in any labor organization, political affiliation, and for employment
only--height, weight, and record of arrest without conviction.
